This installment of The Tribe In The Media is a Norwich Bulletin article on a $20 concert ticket offer at the Mohegan Sun for Bowzer’s Rock-N-Roll Party Volume VII, Daryl Hall & John Oates and Hippiefest, according to the paper:
Mohegan, Conn. — It’s dubbed a “One-Day-Only Stimulus, Recovery and Rebound Special.”
And while the nomenclature doesn’t have the poetry of Cash for Clunkers, the special does offer low-price concert tickets for a trio of events at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
Concertgoers have a 24-hour window — from 10 a.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday — to buy $20 tickets to see Bowzer’s Rock-N-Roll Party Volume VII, Daryl Hall & John Oates or Hippiefest.
Bowser’s Rock-N-Roll Party trots out a series of acts reminiscent of the old Dick Clark Caravan: Lou Christie, Lesley Gore, San the Sham, The Original Comets, Joey Dee and The Starlighters, Wanda Jackson, The Soul Survivors and Charlie Gracie.
Hall & Oates will be honored with the Chairman’s Award for Sustained Creative Achievement by The National Association of Recording Merchandisers this summer.
As August is the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, Hippiefest will bring back The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, Felix Cavaliere of The Rascals, Chuck Negron, formerly of Three Dog Night, Mountain featuring Leslie West & Corky Laing and Badfinger featuring Joey Molland.
Visit the Mohegan Sun box office, any Ticketmaster location or www.ticketmaster.com between 10 a.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday to purchase $20 tickets for any of the three highlighted concerts. Ticket prices rise to $25 and $35 for Bowser’s Rock-N-Roll Party Volume VII at 8 p.m. Friday, $45 for Hall & Oates at 8 p.m. Saturday and $40 for Hippiefest at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12.
